The Blade of Shattered Earth where it was forged in ancient times. Nothing remains of the civilization that created it save this one arena of shattered and cracked stone, the earth itself buckled from the force of the blade. Despite having been taken and used in hundreds of wars and adventures over the years, it always finds its way back here eventually.

I was playing Half Life 2 yesterday 2 (DON’T JUDGE ME I WAS DOING A LOT OF FUN THINGS) and I was playing through the part in Follow Freeman when Barney is yelling at you to take out those snipers pinning him down

all was well, I was up on the roof with him preparing to through a grenade through a window, when I hear a freaking neurotoxin headcrab sound, so I do the logical thing and SPRINT AWAY

but that just allowed the headcrab to drop my health to 1 as the sniper shoots and I died horribly.

My second time trying I killed that headcrab first, took out the first sniper, then sat there crouched with Barney for a little bit, getting ready to throw the second, when I turned around and looked behind me

there was a second neurotoxin headcrab walking very slowly along the narrow beam up to me and Barney was just WATCHING IT APPROACH, and I wasn’t able to switch to crowbar quickly enough and it hit me and Barney still just sat there watching through “Neurotoxin detected: Administering antidote” and then it happened again

anyway I fought off the last sniper but I was pretty upset with Barney there, the dork
